Investigation into Dynamic Pressure Pulsation Characteristics in a Centrifugal Pump with Staggered Impeller

چکیده
For the centrifugal pump, rotor–stator interaction (RSI) induces high-energy pressure pulsation, which directly affects stability of systems and equipment. Therefore, this work proposes a new staggered impeller structure to suppress pulsation in pumps. The original blade is divided into two layers at 10°, 20° 30° form impeller. dynamic characteristics both are predicted using large eddy simulation (LES). results indicate that uniform arrangement blades can significantly reduce energy pump by 54.69% under design conditions, while also achieving best performance. Even off-design still be effectively suppressed blades. study time–frequency domain monitoring points near tongue found phase difference fluctuation caused RSI between prevents superposition efficiently suppresses it pump. provide reference for optimizing low-vibration-noise impellers engineering applications.

Evaluation of floating impeller phenomena in a gyro centrifugal pump.
The Gyro centrifugal pump, developed as a totally implantable artificial heart, was designed with a free impeller in which the rotational shaft (male bearing) of the impeller was completely separated from the female bearing. For this type of pump, it is very important to keep the proper magnet balance (impeller-magnet and actuator-magnet balance) to prevent thrombus formation or bearing wear. W...

متن کاملImpact of Impeller Stagger Angles on Pressure Fluctuation for a Double-Suction Centrifugal Pump
Pressure fluctuation may cause high amplitude of vibration of double‐suction centrifugal pumps, but the impact of impeller stagger angles is still not well understood. In this paper, pressure fluctuation experiments are carried out for five impeller configurations with different stagger angles by using the same test rig system. Results show that the stagger angles exert negligible effects on th...

A study was designed to test the effects of the absence of anticoagulation in the extracorporeal circuit. Five swine were subjected to this experiment utilizing the impeller centrifugal pump during which neither heparin nor any other anticoagulant was used. The extracorporeal circuit consisted of polyvinylchloride tubing, a Centri-Med pump and an external stainless steel heat exchanger that was...
متن کاملImpeller Trimming of an Industrial Centrifugal Viscous Oil Pump
Impeller trimming is a proper way to alter the performance of centrifugal pump with a constant speed so as to meet the demand on the specified flow rate and head in pumping systems. The affinity law accounting for the impeller trimming is the key relation to determine the pump performance with a trimmed impeller. There seems no experimental study dealing with such an affinity law for centrifuga...
